Swansea Reject £750,000 Derby Bid For Bodde

Derby County have had a second £750,000 bid for Dutchman Ferrie Bodde rejected by the club.

The Rams initial bid of £500,000 with it rising to £750,000 if promotion to the Premier league was attained was turned down by Swansea City.It even led Chairman Huw Jenkins to call the offer " laughable." In the last 24 hours SPL side Rangers have had a £2 million bid for county striker Kenny Miller accepted which could finance the move for Bodde.

The Delft born player had handed in a transfer request last week citing personal reasons as a factor behind his decision. Just this week Rams Chairman Adam Pearson had openly declared the former Ado Den Hagg player was keen on signing for the Pride Park outfit but no comments have surfaced to substantiate Pearsons claims.

Pearson Said:

"The player has made a transfer request. We're aware from various quotes around the country that he specifically wants to come to Derby. And we specifically want him here at the club. Our valuation is some way short of what Swansea have put out into the press and, when we're ready to do so, we'll improve our offer but it's nice to know the player wants to come here and a committed player is always very nice to have at the club. He's certainly a player that we think can do a job for us."

Resolved to keeping hold of Bodde Jenkins has revelled that a rejection response was sent in quick order and that the second offer has fallen short of the clubs £2 million evaluation of the player.

Jenkins Told The BBC:

"As far as we are concerned, were are in the same frame of mind as we have always been .We sent them a response pretty quickly, we rejected their offer. It comes nowhere near our evaluation so we will sit tight and see what develops from here until the start of the season."

Swansea have revelled the new kit for next season which will cost £40 for adult shirts raising to £45 for the long sleeved version. Shorts are priced at £16 and socks at £8. Junior sizes are available from small to XL will cost £30 for the short sleeve shirt and £35 for the long sleeve variation.

Junior shorts are priced at £13 and socks at £6. Kits for 2-3 year olds and 6-7 year olds are priced at £34 for the full kit. Kits will go on sale from the club superstore between working hours of 10 am to 5pm tomorrow and to cope with demand the club shop will open its doors from 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday.

i totally agree. but if he wants to leave, then he wont be happy with us turning down offers, however bad they are. but he is still under contract and it is up to the club whether to let him go.

Derby are stupid. We will sell for £2m. They offer £750,000. How thick can you get.
