Bristol Rovers On Hunt To Capture Duffy

Bristol Rovers have renewed their interest in signing out of favour striker Darryl Duffy with a move away from the Liberty Stadium thought to be close.

Since his permanent switch goals have been very hard to come by for the former Scottish Under-21 international. In part he has been overshadowed by club top scorer Jason Scotland , Spaniard Guillem Bauza and Manchester United star Fabien Brandy.

Scoring only three goals this term the striker has found opportunities limited and has fuelled speculation over his future at the club. Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez has discussed the likelihood of a move for the player in recent weeks outlining that some players will have to seek fresh challenges elsewhere.

It is understood that the club could part with Duffy for £100,000 and would mark a significant loss on the £250,000-£300,000 fee shelled out just last summer.

I'd rather he stayed and he should certainly consider doing better than Bristol Rovers

He's still under contract with us so why not to let him go for a season-long loan for a decent fee?

I rated Duffy higher than Brandy although the latter was the favoured one. I don't want him to go, but if he is not in Matinez's plans, then I can't blame him if he wants first team football which he will have with another club.
