Robinson Decision Expected On Monday

Andy Robinson will decide his future within the next week as the time ticks down on the 10 day deadline given to the player by Roberto Martinez.

Contract talks have stalled in recent weeks and has led to speculation that the midfielder's future lies away from the Liberty Stadium. Leeds United are thought to be interested in signing the former Tranmere Rovers player but there has been nothing concrete from the Yorkshire club over a possible move for the player.

It is not the first time that talks over contract extensions with the player have broken down. In July 2006, Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins revelled the same problems over the difference over the remuneration package. Jenkins was quoted as saying 'Andy's agent and I are quite a way apart in what we think the level of his contract should be."

Robinson has made 157 apperances and has scored 42 goals in his Swansea carrer to date.

Robinson told the SWEP

"A decision will definitely be made by Monday. If it takes me until Monday to reach a decision then that is what it will be.Over the next week it will be sorted out. The offer is on the table and we are considering it."

Existing Season Ticket holders have up until the 14th June to secure their seats for next season.

Its a bit convenient that he is waiting till after the play off finals. Going down in my estimation rather rapidly.

I no longer want him to stay!

Management must be strong and demand his decision by friday this week as was originally announced. Negotiations on a new contract started well before the end of the season, and so he has had sufficient time to contemplate a decision.

Unfortunately I have to agree. It is time for him to go!
