'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Persisent Derby Confident Of Signing Bodde

Relegated Premiership side Derby County are confident of signing midfielder Ferrie Bodde.

But lets not word it wrong, the persistent club say they will not give up until they are successful with a bid.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has already laughted at and rejected £750,000 from the Rams, but despite that, Derby's chairman of football, Adam Pearson told BBC Sport:

'That will not put us off, we're intent on pursuing it until we have a successful conclusion.'

'He is a player we have been watching for a long time and I know the manager Paul Jewell sees him as an important signing.

'He is a target that is uppermost in our thoughts. It might take time but we hope we'll be able to secure him.'

You may have been watching him for a long time but it certainly wasn't long enough as we managed to capture him for a cut-price fee significantly less than £100,000.

This is a potential worry for the club and fans however as the Dutchman has been an instant hit since his bargain move from Ado Den Haag last Summer.

Bodde was voted as Vital Swansea's player of the season and he is arguably one of most important players.

Selling him before the new season even starts would surely effect our new Championship campaign, but hopefully Jenkins won't sell unless the price is absolutely right.

At what price should we start considering selling Ferrie Bodde?
