Jenkins: Bodde 'Is Not For Sale'

Jenkins: Bodde 'Is Not For Sale'

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has warded off any further bids for Dutch man Ferrie Bodde, declaring the player not for sale.

Rams boss Paul Jewell promised radical changes to the Squad after the Pride Park club crashed out of the Premiership as the former Wigan boss alludes to "'The team that starts next season will hopefully bear no resemblance to that one that started here." Bodde seems to be firmly part of those wholesale changes as county prepare for next seasons Championship campaign.

The bid totalling £750,000 which includes a £250,000 bonus should Derby secure promotion to the premiership next season, was rejected without hesitation by Jenkins.

Bodde has made 34 appearances for the club this season and has scored 8 goals in all competitions and was part of the PFA's league one team of the year.

Jenkins Told Sky Sports:

"I can confirm that we have received a bid for Ferrie. I can also confirm that it has been rejected. The offer is laughable, especially for a player who is not for sale.

Having just won promotion to the Championship, our aim is to strengthen our squad and compete, not let our best players go on the cheap."

In other transfer news Ashley Williams is expected to sign a permanent deal very soon after saying farewell to the Stockport County faithful last weekend.

How many times has a chairman sid that a player is not for sale after a bid only to sell them within a couple of weeks when a bigger offer comes in?
