Williams To Complete £350,000 Permanent Move

Swansea City will be hoping to secure the permanent capture of defender Ashley Williams from Stockport County, within the next 7 days.

Williams signature will come at a price and a fee club equalling record fee of £350,000 will be payable to the Edgeley Park club. The Welsh international has featured in the run in to the end of the season and was in the starting eleven that secured the vital three points that secured promotion to the Championship, beating Gillingham 2-1.

Highly rated by the Stockport club , his move will come as a huge blow to the the league two club who are in the play offs.
Williams has made his international début this year, facing Luxembourg. Securing championship football for the 2008/09 season will cap of a trully remarkable two months for the Tamworth born defender.

Jenkins Told The SWEP

'It's just a matter of sitting down with Ashley and getting the contract signed. We're confident that will be done in the near future.'



Kevin Austin, Dennis Lawrence and Kristian O Leary have been offered new one year deals.
