Wilkins Gives His Reaction After Swansea Loss

Gulls boss Dean Wilkins has declared his side are not ready to mount a promotion challenge to the Championship after going down to a 1-0 loss to Swansea City this afternoon.

Swansea took the lead on 78 minutes when Fabien Brandy broke the deadlock after fellow substitute Shaun McDonald got behind his marker Matt Richards and find Brandy who fired it past Dutchman Michel Kuipers from 6 yards out.

Wilkins Told seagulls.co.uk:

'I'm pleased with the improvement from last season, especially at home. I think it was really important that we gave out supporters some good performances and some good results and I think we did that consistently over the season.'

Having played against the champions today it has shown us that we're not quite there yet. We need to be stronger mentally, but I think the younger players will get stronger mentally.'

Meanwhile in league one Nottingham Forest secured automatic promotion to the Championship after beating Yeovil Town 3-2 at the City Ground. Doncaster Rovers missed out on automatic promotion following a shock 2-1 loss to Cheltenham Town..
