Guillem Bauza was in dream land yesterday afternoon as he grabbed a hat trick, his first since joining the club from Espanyol B in the summer.
Bauza has found opportunities hard to come by as of late but his persistence and loyalty to the cause paid off as he put the gloss on a 4-1 win over lowly Leyton Orient.
Kicking off his hat trick spree , the Spaniard took advantage of some poor defending to slot home through the outstretched legs of a hapless Glenn Morris. Things got bad to worse for the Orient Shot Stopper when Angel Rangel`s pass forced the Morris to come out of his box. Hot on his heals was Jason Scotland who forced an error from young keeper who sliced his clearance straight to Bauza who fired into an empty net from distance.
Rampant after his second the Spaniard grabbed his third after the striker hit the bar and ricochet out. After a moments pause the official on the far touchline awarded the goal.
Understandably the striker has been in bullish mood since and even went as far as asking his team mates to sign the match ball that will undoubtedly take pride and place on the mantelpiece for years to come.
The Leeds United arbitration case will draw to a close next week but that has not prevented the striker from adding his voice to the already numerous murmurs of discontent. This has not soured Bauza's appetite as he looks forward to life in the Championship next season.
Bauza Told The BBC
"It's my first hat-trick in Britain I will keep that ball forever.
It's a great feeling when you score three goals and I asked all my team-mates to sign it because I wanted to be reminded of this moment forever. I want them to be part of my hat-trick because without them I couldn't score any goals.'I think we deserve to be champions and I think at the end of all this we are going to be champions.
Everyone is looking forward to Championship football next season. We will do our best and hope we are successful next season.'
