Tudur-Jones Looking For First League Start

Swansea City midfielder Owain Tudur-Jones is hoping to make his first League start in over a year when Leyton Orient visit the Liberty Stadium tomorrow.

The young Welshman has been plagued with injuries for the past 2 years, and hasn't been in the starting line-up since November 2006 when we beat Bournemouth 4-2 at home.

He only played 52 minutes in that game and was substituted by Shaun MacDonald.

He has made a few appearances this from the bench but he's been back and for from the treatment table - finding it difficult to shrug off his on-going injury problems.

Hopefully that'll be a thing of the past as he could start tomorrow as Martinez is without both Ferrie Bodde and Darren Pratley.

Tudur-Jones is out of contract in the Summer so he'll be relishing the opportunity to impress and earn himself a new deal.

He told the Evening Post:

'If I do get the start it will be quite a nice way to cap off what has been a pretty difficult season,'

'I said a few weeks back, it was about trying to get as many minutes on the pitch as possible for me and in the bigger scheme of things looking at next season.

'I've been happy just to be training and sitting on the bench for the last few weeks, but when I do get in the team, I'm going to take some shifting.

'Everything's fine. I'm feeling fit and healthy and once I get a good pre-season under my belt in the summer I'll be raring to go.'

Should Owain Tudur-Jones be offered a new contract?
