'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martinez's Ambition Shines Through

After signing a new contract extension, Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez says he wants to fulfil everyone's dream by bringing Premiership football to the Liberty Stadium.

The Spaniard has signed a new deal which the Evening Post believe will keep him here until 2012 and beyond.

With a long-term relationship secured with the promising young manager, things are certainly looking promising for the future of the club.

Martinez told the Evening Post:

'I'm very excited about the future because this club has all the ingredients you need,'

'We are ready for the next challenge, which is the Championship, and we are looking forward to working really hard to take Swansea City where it belongs.

'We are an ambitious club. Since the first day I came back the board of directors made it clear they were not happy to go through the motions.

'Like me they want to win things and to go forward, and everything we do is with the dream of bringing Premier League football to the Liberty Stadium.

'We know that if we want to get there with a solid base it's going to take time, but we're taking the long-term view and we're ready to work towards that.'

Martinez has always insisted to fans that he'll only leave the club he loves if, like the last time he left, he is forced to.

Unlike many other managers, who move in search of a an extra wage packet, Martinez is here for the long-term and he's looking forward to the new challenges ahead.

Martinez is signed up for the next 4 or 5 years, Do you think he can bring Premiership football to the Liberty Stadium?
