City Braced For Bumper Celebrations

Swansea City`s celebrations to mark the promotion success will be set to roll onto the streets of the city a week on Monday, when players and staff from the club will be part of an open top bus parade.

Club director David Morgan has revelled that the invitation was extended to the club from Swansea City Council leader Chris Holley. The route will take have a flavour of the clubs long and rich history as the journey will start from The Vetch Field and will head towards the city centre.

The football leauge have yet to ratify the club as champions due to the ongoing arbitration with Leeds United.

This will not hamper further celebrations on Saturday as the club look likely to be presented with the league one trophy ahead of the bumper celebrations on Monday. Celebrations like this have not been seen in the citysince the glory days under John Toshack.

Morgan told the SWEP:

"'It would have been nice to go up to the Championship with a win - but it's the results from over the season and not just one game. When the result came through that Carlisle had lost, it was celebration time.'We were given the invitation for the open-top parade and a civic reception by council leader Chris Holley. We will leave from the Vetch field for a bit of history. It's nice the council recognises the importance of the football club - how much will promotion bring into the city.".

Swansea City Reserves will be looking to avoid a glovers double as they face Yeovil Town at Llanelli`s Stebonheath Park. Kick off at 7.00pm .
