Martinez Set To Rotate Squad

Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez has given fringe players at the club a welcome boost ahead of Saturday`s title decider with Yeovil Town.

The likes of Andrea Orlandi , Darren Way , Owain Tudur Jones , Joe Allen and Swansea veteran Kristian O Leary have had to be content with watching Swansea city`s promotion party go on before them from the bench. Martinez is set to reward them for their hard work over the season with a taste of the promotion party in the last two games of the season against Leyton Orient and Brighton, should Swansea win the title on Saturday.

Orlandi looked likely to break into the first team but his surge was hampered by a knee injury that has seen him sidelined for three months. The former Deportivo Alavés player took a little time to settle into the British game and is now nearing fitness with games to spare. Welsh international Owain Tudur Jones has features in the last couple of weeks and got vital minutes under his belt in the 2-1 win over Gillingham that secured Swansea promotion.

Injury plagued Darren Way has also had to be content with a bit part role as he has failed to break into the first team following his shin injury that has seen the former Yeovil Town man make only a handful of appearances since arriving for £150,000 from the Somerset club in the January 2006 transfer window.

Swansea veteran Kristian O Leary who was hugely criticized for his part in the 2-1 loss to Millwall on the 7th March has not featured since that game. Former Middlesbrough keeper David Knight has also not taken his place in the string eleven since the 2-1 win over Billericay Town in the second round of the FA Cup. Knight has however played a vital role in Swansea City's reserve team over the course of the season.

Martinez has also hailed his squad for their great attitude but has warned those players who have not featured in the past few months they will have to wait until the title is secured for their place in the starting 11.

Martinez told the SWEP:

'You need to have a lot of numbers in your squad if you want to be consistently good. We have had that this season and that's been a big part of our success. It does mean that some great professionals have not played as many minutes as they would have liked."

They have shown a great attitude over the course of the season and I will definitely try to give them a reward in the next couple of weeks.' 'We are in a situation where the players who have been playing want the chance to challenge for a title and that's something we should bear in mind. We can't just take that opportunity away from them we have got three games to go and they should provide enough minutes for us to reward the people who deserve it.

Fans are reminded to purchase their tickets for the Yeovil Town fixture on Saturday as tickets are selling out fast..
