Swansea Interested In Crewe Keeper

Vital Crewe are today reporting rumours that Swansea City are interested in goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams.

The Championship-bound club also join Premiership clubs who are all showing a keen interest in the young shot-stopper.

The 20 year-old has yet to make an appearance for Crewe but the Daily Mail claim that Blackburn Rovers, Sunderland, Bolton and Derby are all looking at him.

Despite not featuring for the League 1 side, fon Williams is a regular in the Wales under-21 side which also includes 2 Swans players - Shaun MacDonald and Joe Allen.

The youngsters are experiencing some superb success in the Euro 2009 qualifiers, sitting top of their group, ahead of Romania and France.

The Railwaymen look set to lose fon Williams at the end of the season as he is out of contract.

Despite Premiership clubs showing an interest, I wouldn't completely rule out a move to the Liberty Stadium.

He'd play second fiddle to De Vries but regular action for the Reserves and playing with his under-21 international colleagues would certainly benefit him.

Do Swansea need a third goalkeeper with De Vries and Knight at the club?

Well must be a good talent if all those Prem clubs are interested, you will do well to get him!

Not sure he'd leave for the Championship to be 2nd keeper again, but I can see him jumping at the chance to go to a Premiership club as there's a chance they'll loan him out to this level within a season or two anyway. God knows why he's not yet had a chance with us though, plenty of reasons to throw him in earlier in the season. Too late now, it's not the time for an inexperienced keeper.

David Knight has not featured in a single league game, so why get another keeper?
