Scotland Wins Monthly Award

Scotland Wins Monthly Award

Swansea City Striker Jason Scotland has won the League One Player of the Month award for March.

The Trinidad & Tobago international added 9 to his ever growing goals tally last month which now stands at 29 for the year, 9 more than Beckford of Leeds.

He was won the Vital Swansea poll for March Player of the month, receiving 88% of the vote. Leon Britton followed with 4%, Butler 3% and Pratley 2%.

One of his goals last month included the superb strike to level the scoring at home to Bristol Rovers. From the right hand edge of the penalty box, he made his way inside before unleashing an unstoppable left footed strike into the top corner.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Powerade Player of the Month Awards panel, said:

'Nine goals in eight games says it all.

'Jason's performances have been improving all season and there's no doubt that he is capable of playing at a higher level.

'He is in excellent form this year as his position as the leading goal scorer in League One proves.'

Our new poll asks if you think new loan signing Ashley Williams should be playing at the back for us.

The Swans suffered a huge shock on Saturday after throwing away 3 points in injury time as Bournemouth netted 2 late goals to take home all the points.
