De Vries Ready To Face Carlisle

De Vries Ready To Face Carlisle

In two second half injury time minutes Swansea City's promotion party turned sour something that Dutch shot stopper Dorus De Vries will be hoping to rectify tomorrow evening.

Two late goals from Joe Partington and Jo Kuffour gave the Cherries a much needed lifeline as the financially stricken club look to avoid relegation.Andy Robinson gave Swansea the lead on 50 minutes as he rose high to head home a Thomas Butler corner. It was not to be a Liberty promotion party as new filtered through that 10 man Doncaster Rovers earned a point against Huddersfield.

Lapse of concentration in the dying moments of the game cost Swansea the chance to secure promotion at Carlisle tomorrow evening. De Vries however still incensed by the decision to award a corner to Bournemouth insists that he squad will have to bounce back, to set up a promotion date against Gillingham on Saturday.

Securing a win against the cumbrians tomorrow evening would all but hand Swansea the leauge one title and could drag Carlisle back into the play off mix. Not that would concern De Vries as his determination to win over second placed Carlisle is all to but evident.

De Vries Spoke To The SWEP:

'I can't describe in words how angry I am.The linesman made a foolish decision with the corner. It was unbelievable, an absolute joke. Yes my body was over the line, but the ball was nowhere near out. He was smiling after he gave the decision and that's just annoying. I know officials have a really difficult job and they can't be perfect, but it's nowhere near out and I can't understand why he's decided to give them an advantage.'

We should have defended the corner better, but that doesn't change the fact that we feel robbed. We have to show that we're real men at Carlisle nowWe needed the win against Bournemouth just to secure our promotion, but now we have to pick ourselves up and make sure we do it tomorrow night.'

We have done well against the teams up there with us this season, like at Doncaster and Nottingham Forest, so we're not going to fear anything going into the game.'

Should De Vries's wishes ring true it will be no more than the Squad deserve.

he made a mistake for the second, well out of position for the cross, though austin should have done better as well.

His positioning was awful, a cross that close to the line should have been dealt with

Think your being harsh on the second goal. First goal i thought he should'v had his mind on the cross and not on the linesman.
