'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Robinson Committed To Swansea

Swansea City midfielder Andy Robinson has justified his decision for keeping faith in the club, rather than accepting previous offers from Championship clubs.

The former Tranmere man experienced a long spell of contract talks last year with offers and interest coming in from Championship clubs.

He finally penned a deal, rejecting those offers and he recently told the Western Mail:

"For me personally, I wanted to do it with Swansea City. It`s a club I`ve grown to love and a club I`ll support when I`ve finished playing.

"Who knows how many more years I will play for Swansea City. I`ll be more than happy, not to mention excited, to play in the Championship for Swansea City.

"I believe it`s a league I can establish myself in and a league this club deserves to be in."

"Playing in the Championship wasn`t in my wildest dreams when I first came back into the game. But I`ve always believed in my ability to play there.

"Now we`re well on the way to getting there.

And, while I turned down a few offers to play at that level, I always knew this club was a sleeping giant that would be playing there before long.

"I always thought there would be a day when I played for Swansea City in the Championship. We`ve been trying to grasp it for the last couple of years and we deserve a chance to compete there."
