'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martinez: We Deserved More

Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez said his side deserved a lot more from today's game after losing 2-1 at home to Bournemouth.

Andy Robinson headed Swansea into the lead 5 minutes into the second half but 2 strikes in injury time gave the struggling Cherries side all 3 points.

Martinez told BBC Sport:

'We need to regroup and bounce back on Tuesday and make sure we get rid of all the frustration,'

'Football can be a cruel game sometimes and we didn't get what we deserved.'

'Their 'keeper kept them in the game,'

'For 90 minutes we looked like the only team that was going to win, but towards the end Bournemouth had a few breaks that went their way.

'To get nothing out of the games is a big blow, because the performance deserved more than that.'

Had we won, the Swans would have gained promotion unofficially. The gap from Doncaster would have been 12 points with them having only 12 points to play for.

Unfortunately fans will have to wait a little longer for promotion to be won.

On Tuesday we travel the long trip North to face 2nd place Carlisle, just 4 points adrift of us.

What were your thoughts on Swansea's performance today?

Will you finish as Champions though? Personally, I hope you beat Carlisle on Tuesday!

I'd have said on balance, a draw would have been fair.
