Williams Could Cost Swans £350,000

The South Wales Evening Post today reports that Swansea City may equal their transfer record to sign defender Ashley Williams on a permanent deal.

The current record is £350,000 which we spent on Colin Irwin 27 years ago. We may have to equal that in order to sign the 23 year-old.

The young prospect made his Wales debut on Wednesday night against Luxembourg and within 24 hours he signed on loan for the Swans, just moments before Thursday's 5pm deadline.

Williams has played a vital role this season for Stockport County as they are competing amongst the play-offs in League 2.

I'm sure they wouldn't allow their club captain to leave on loan if the move wasn't going to be made permanent in the Summer.

We'll just have to wait and see.

How much should we spend on Ashley Williams?

it's an excellent signing and i look forward to seeing him play. i wouldnt mind us spending that much on him, we'll have to if we want to progress.
