'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tilson Disappointed Not To Win

Southend United manager Steve Tilson thought his side created enough chances to take all three points against the Swans yesterday.

Kanu cancelled out Scotland's opener deep into first half stoppage side and neither side could find the winner after the restart.

Both sides had chances but it was the Swansea defence who were under the cosh during a good spell for the home side.

Alan Tate may have found himself lucky not to concede a penalty when he tugged on Lee Barnard's shirt. Luckily for us the referee didn't point to the spot.

Steve Wilson said:

'It was a tough game and the conditions made it hard.

'You had two good footballing sides and it made it difficult to get ball down and play.

'Overall though, we created enough chances to have won the game.

'The lads showed great energy and there is a lot of belief here.

'I was disappointing not to have taken three points, but we are on a good run of form.

'We can't be too down today because we were playing against a top side and a point is not a bad result.

'It was a fantastic delivery by Charlie and a great header by Hal at the end of the first half for us to score.

'It was a good time for us to equalise and to be honest, throughout the match I thought we looked dangerous from set pieces.

sounded like a fair result all round, neither manager can be too dissapointed not to win.

Easy to say they should have all three when you have 12 men on the pitch
