Martinez: 'Not Acceptable'

Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez said his side's performance in yesterday's 4-2 defeat was not acceptable.

It was an absolute shocker for the defence as we found ourselves 3-0 down after just 23 minutes. Scotland got a goal back before half time but the hosts made it 4-1 7 minutes after the restart.

Obviously the Spaniard wasn't pleased and he told the Wales on Sunday:

''We have set high standards this season, but the first half an hour wasn't good enough.

'We lacked intensity and didn't do what we are good at. That's not acceptable, the first half an hour was a huge lesson for us.

'We haven't conceded those sort of goals all season, we got into the wrong positions and never closed the crosses down.

''If we played like we did for the first 25 minutes, it doesn't matter who we play against we will get punished.''

Roberto did manage to find some positives, however, despite the defeat.

'After that 30 minutes I thought we showed a great attitude,''

'We created enough chances to get into the game and they were trying to run the clock down in the last five minutes, so it shows they were under pressure.

''I know that's only one point out of nine, which isn't a good return, but the performances have been good.

''I was disappointed with how we played at the start of the game, but happy with the way the players performed for the last hour.''

Will Swansea still go up as Champions? Or miss out on promotion altogether?
