Akinfenwa Tips Swansea To Win Title

Swansea City will go in the hunt of 3 points at Northampton tomorrow afternoon with one ex Swan Bayo Akinfenwa tipping his former club to win the leauge one title.

Hampered by a leg injury that nearly cost him his career the powerhouse striker has seen his fortunes change . Signed by Kenny Jackett at Millwall the London born player failed to hold down a place at The New Den. It was not long before Akinfenwa's services were snapped up and secured a deal with Northampton Town. The former Doncaster man has paid back in full the faith put on him by Cobblers manager Stuart Gray with his 6 goal return.

Swansea in recent weeks have been dealt blows by their former employees with Willy Gueret pulling of one of the best performances of his career to see Swansea fall tantalising close to a memorable Wembley away day. Kenny Jackett's return to the Liberty Stadium proved a fruitful one as he saw his relegation threatened side claim a shock 2-1 win.

Despite the poor recent run of form Akinfenwa has still tipped the South Wales Club to win the leauge one title. He even claimed that Swansea could spare the Northampton club three points.

He Told the Northampton Chronicle:

'They lost to Millwall last week so I'm sure they'll be very aggressive when they play us.They can allow us three points, though - they can spare us that because they are definitely going to win the league.'

It will be good to see all the old boys again, but I'm playing for Northampton now and I want Northampton to get the three points.I'm 100 per cent sure they will win this league. They've got the be

t team, they play the best football and their manager will take them places as well as doing very well for himself.'

I will be very shocked if they don't win the league.'

Vital Swansea will have extensive match coverage from 2.00pm onwards.
