Police:Warn Against Millwall Trouble

South Wales Police have sent out a stark warning ahead of the League One Clash against Millwall tomorrow evening, a clampdown on illegal parking and public disturbances will be in place.

Representatives from supporter bases and also the Police have been working in partnership to ensure ugly scenes when fans clashed with Riot police on the 22nd October 2006, are not repeated.

The fixture has been moved from Saturday 9th to Friday 8th to limit the possibility of any trouble in and around The Liberty Stadium.

Bumper crowds are expected with 15,000 + fans expected to pack into the Stadium. Fans have been advised to purchase tickets early to avoid lengthy Queues.

Chief Superintendent Mark Mathias of South Wales Police has warned fans that there will be a crackdown on illegal activity but insists his officers and staff want fans to have an enjoyable evening.

Chief Superintendent Mark Mathias Told The SWEP:

"'We want to make this an enjoyable event, building on the success the club is experiencing at the moment while causing the minimum disruption to the local community."

I would ask visitors to the stadium to respect the local community and only park in authorised areas."

"Officers will be enforcing the parking regulations, and vehicles parked illegally are likely to be towed away.'

Swansea City Reserves suffered a 5-2 loss to Plymouth Argyle yesterday at Port Talbot's Re/Max stadium.
