Paul Anderson's comeback from a Hamstring injury has been scuppered by the news that the midfielder has been ruled out for a further 3 weeks.
Anderson pulled up in an off the ball incident in the 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest on the 29th January. Incensed, officials from Swansea City were left bitterly disappointed at the decision of under fire referee Darren Deadman not to delay the kick off due to traffic problems around the City of Nottingham.
Scans to revealed that the injury had not healed sufficiently and Anderson would be sidelined for the majority of March.
Frustration has started setting in as Anderson has alluded too and the midfielder is under no illusions that rest over the next few weeks will be vitally important in order to get back to the promotion push.
Anderson has also expressed his criticism over the actions and decision to only allow a 6 minute warm up at the City ground.
He Told The SWEP:
| "'It's so frustrating,I thought I was close to coming back last week but I had a scan and the news wasn't great..The injury is coming on but not as fast as I would have liked and it could be another two or three weeks before I'm playing again." It was quite a serious tear that I suffered and I've just got to rest.We had six minutes to warm up, and for someone like me that's not going to help,' Anderson added." The frustrating thing is that I can do everything now apart from sprint, but the problem is that sprinting is my game. I can kick a ball and do all the other things in training, but as soon as I get to 80 per cent running the hamstring goes again. It's disappointing, but I just have to keep working to get it right and hopefully make my come back towards the end of the season.'' |
