Injury Setback For Dennis Lawrence

Injury Setback For Dennis Lawrence

Swansea City centre back Dennis Lawrence has suffered an injury setback.

He was expected to make a return this week after recovering well from a knee injury he picked up in the 2-2 draw at Crewe.

However, it was first feared that he would require an operation on his knee and has travelled to London to see a knee specialist.

Thankfully he only requires treatment and doesn't need to go under the knife. If he did he could have missed the remainder of the season whereas now he'll be out for only another 2 weeks.

Physio Richard Evans explained the situation to the Evening Post:

'We've had some good news,'

'The consultant's happy with Dennis's knee and he's going to have some treatment.

'He was going in for some surgery, but things were reviewed and it was decided that wasn't necessary. I'm waiting to speak to the consultant so I don't know how long he'll be out for, but it'll be a lot less than we thought.

'He's progressing really well. He had an MRI scan and things are looking good.'

Others on the injury list are Orlandi (month+ away from return), Painter (3 weeks out) and Tudur-Jones (1 week out).

Paul Anderson, Ferrie Bodde and Leon Britton should all shake off injuries in time for Saturday's match at Huddersfield.
