Good & Bad News On Injury Front

Swansea City left back Marcos Painter could be sidelined for up to 3 weeks with a hamstring injury.

He was forced to leave the field early in Monday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash at MK Dons and physio Richard Evans said it was only down to the number of games being played lately, he told the Official Site:

'Again the injury is largely down to the huge number of games we've had to play in recent weeks,''

'There are some tired bodies in the squad.'

Roberto Martinez received criticism for the amount of changes he made to his team in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Semi-Final first leg, in which we lost 1-0.

With four matches being played in 10 days the Spaniard didn't much of a choice - either playing a stronger team and risking his first team players or playing a weaker team with less chance of progressing through to the final.

Striker Guillem Bauza suffered an injury for similar reasons, having played a number of games in a short space of time.

It's not all bad news though regarding injuries.

Paul Anderson is now fully fit and available. Ferrie Bodde and Leon Britton who missed Monday's game should be fit in time for the trip to Huddersfield on Saturday.
