Calderwood Conceeds Title To Swansea

Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood has all but given up the leauge one title to Swansea City.

It is not the first time this season that opposition managers have heaped praise on Roberto Martinez's squad. Calderwood has joined Southend United's Steve Tilson and Walsall boss Richard Money in conceding the title despite 16 games yet to play.

Forest have seen a downturn in fortunes in recent weeks and now languish 14 points shy of Swansea City in 4th position. Bournemouth caused an upset to the former European Champions after securing all three points despite their lowly position.

Roberto Martinez despite the lofty position Swansea find themselves in; has refused to allow the leauge leaders to get complacent as the most crucial month of the season , march looms large over the horizon.

It leaves Calderwood setting his sights on a new target ; aiming for second position forest are 6 points off their target with tricky tests ahead to fellow promotion chasers Carlisle United , Doncaster Rovers , Leyton Orient and Tranmere Rovers.Calderwood Spoke to BBC Radio Nottingham:

'It will be very, very hard to see how they would drop so many points. Strange things can happen but it will need a remarkable turnaround.'

'Every time they win they are taking a step-and-a-half towards promotion. If they do that in the next five or six games then it will be very hard for any team to catch them.'

Swansea can further extend the lead at the top of leauge one should they secure 3 points at Port Vale tomorrow afternoon.

Forest could get second spot as they are only 2 wins away from Doncaster and have 1 game in hand on them. hope that we do not slip up.
