League One - The Weekend's Action

Not the best result at the weekend against a Crewe side struggling at the wrong end of the table.

A share of the points after the boys fell asleep defensively in the second half. This game higlights some of our defensive frailties, Austin is no longer good enough for this level so we need more cover for both full back positions, Lawrence also looks set to be out for a long time which means that Tate will be in the CB role, we now have no cover for our CB. I hope that RM has some loan signings lined up as we need cover.

Doncaster 2 - 0 Bristol Rovers
Not a good result for us, Doncaster close the gap at the top to 8 points after we dropped 2 points to Crewe.

Luton 1 - 4 Bournemouth
Two relegation threatened sides met with Bournemouth cruising to victory.

This win comes the week that Bournemouth went into administration but the 10 point deduction that saw them go bottom of the table could be gone in no time if they carry on with this result. This win sees them move off the bottom, replaced by Port Vale, on goal difference. They are now 9 points from safety.

Cheltenham 2 - 1 Brighton
Brighton looked certain to get the win but 2 injury time goals saw Cheltenham steal the win.

Port Vale 1 - 1 Carlisle
A good result for us as Carlisle drop 2 points as well. This result sees Port Vale go bottom of the league on goal difference.

Oldham 2 - 1 Gillingham
Oldham bounced back from defeat by us as they beat Gillingham 2 - 1 at home. This result sees Oldham stay mid table but Gillingham are only 2 points above the drop zone.

Southend 2 - 1 Hartlepool
Southend come from behind as Hartlepool finish the game with 10 men. Southend are now 2 points behind Tranmere who occupy the last play-off place.

Huddersfield 1 - 0 Swindon
One goal in the first minute decided this game. Huddersfield are level on points with Swindon in midtable.

Northampton 1 - 1 Leeds
Leeds scored first but ex Swans frontman Bayo Akinfenwa earns the cobblers a point. Leeds stay out of the play-offs with this result.

Tranmere 1 - 1 Orient
A point a piece for these promotion rivals. A win for Orient would have seen them leap frog Tranmere into the last play-off place.

Forest 2 - 0 Millwall
Forest beat Kenny Jackett's Millwall 2 - 0 to keep their promotion hopes alive. Both of Forest's goal came from set pieces, why does that sound familiar?

Walsall 2 - 0 Yeovil
Tuesday nights visitors to the Liberty stayed in the play-offs after beating Yeovil 2 - 0. Yeovil ended the game with a defender in goal after their keeper went off injured. Yeovil stay mid-table.

Did Yeovil concede both goals after their keeper went off injured? We often have games without a keeper on the bench. Surely a dangerous practice.
